LST EN ISO 14001:2015 Environmental management systems — Requirements with guidance for use (ISO 14001)

Global environmental challenges and increasingly stringent environmental protection requirements encourage organizations to implement environmental management systems. The LST EN ISO 14001 standard specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving an organization’s environmental management system. The standard is based on the Plan–Do–Check–Act methodology. Organizations are required to identify environmental aspects of their activities, products and services, evaluate their significance, and establish environmental policy and objectives. Organizations must also develop, implement and monitor programmes to achieve these objectives in order to ensure continuous environmental improvement. The requirements of LST EN ISO 14001 apply only to significant environmental aspects that an organization can control or influence. The standard is applicable to all organizations wishing to implement an environmental management system and ensure the implementation of environmental policy.
